When embarking on a weight loss journey, we're bombarded with an array of strategies, from many different diets to cutting-edge workout routines. However, amidst this sea of advice, there's one fundamental factor that stands out above all - adherence.
Adherence encompasses sticking to your training and diet plan for a period of time. It means being in a small calorie deficit, consuming a healthy balanced diet and incorporating a mixture of cardiovascular work and strength training into your routine.
But more than just following a set of rules, adherence is about finding what works for you, finding what you enjoy, and sticking to it.
Factors like age, health condition and emotional state play crucial roles in determining the effectiveness of your weight loss journey. What works for one person might not work for another. That's why it's essential to personalise your approach and find the strategies that resonate with you. This is what I do as a trainer with each client; everything is personalised.
Saying that, if one doesn't stick to it, the best training plan or trainer in the world isn't going to make much difference, because at the heart of it all, adherence is the number one deciding factor between success and failure in achieving your weight loss goals.
So, as you embark on your journey, remember that the key to success lies in sticking to what works for you and making sure you enjoy it.
